26 Translucent Cherry Red Bakelite Beads 1/2” Each (Broken Necklace)

The camera could not capture the deep brilliant cherry red of these beads in the shade. We looked online for comparables and saw all we found had the same orange shade camera affect. Trust us, these are even more brilliant in the hand than on the page!
 
The majority of these 22 beads are on their original knotted necklace, which broke. The other 4 will accompany them in the same package. We noticed scuff marks only on the two loose ones. They tested positive for Bakelite using the hot water test.
 
These were found in our grandmother’s vintage jewelry collection. They may very well date to the 1940s. We do not know when or where she acquired them.
