African Dogon Bronze Bird Ring/Pendant, Mali Size 5.5

A bird sits atop this Dogon bronze cast ring which we found identified on Worthpoint as a petite hornbill. This design is from the Dogon people of Mali.
 
This came with others collected by a late family friend, an American gentleman who lived in the Côte d'Ivoire for many years in the 1970s.
 
While shaped as a ring, these were often worn as pendants on bands around one’s waist. 
 
Collectors may want to contact a framer or display company for a custom stand on which to display this piece.
