African Dogon Bronze Ring / Pendant with Peanut, Mali Size 8.5
This is a design of the Dogon people of Mali for whom peanuts are a major crop. The peanut itself appears hollow with something inside... up to the buyer to find out what...
While shaped as a ring, these were often worn as pendants on bands around one’s waist.
This comes to us from the personal collection of a late family friend, an American gentleman who lived in the Côte d'Ivoire for many years in the 1970s.
Collectors may want to contact a framer or display company for a custom stand on which to display this piece.
US Ring Size 8.5
Peanut is 7/8” x 3/8”, sitting 1/2” above the ring finger.
Approx 0.7 oz
