Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver and Crystal Vanity Set (With Issues)

This set belonged to our great grandmother, Gertrude Wenzlick, on our grandmother Winona Wenzlick Sand’s side of the family. Knowing she passed before the end of the first decade of the 1900s, and that these are Art Nouveau style, we would guess they date to the 1890s-1900s.
 
These were used for cosmetic powders, all marked STERLING. The large one has Gertrude’s name engraved in the top. It features a repoussé floral and scroll design on the lid atop a nine-sided crystal or glass jar.  The smaller much more detailed 14-sided jars have repoussé rose and plant motifs on the outer edges of the lids with holes in the shape of stars and circles in the center. 
 
The bad news: We had to polish the tops as they were blackened to the point where we could not read any marks. We felt the need to clean inside the glass jars as several had age-old cosmetic debris inside. Unfortunately, in the process, the material between cap and bottle top disintegrated. In sum, on four of the smaller jars and the larger jar,  the tops do not seal shut anymore (see photos). We have taped them closed in the box. For the four that do seal, two were unable to be cleaned inside because we could get the tops off at all. 
 
In other words, there are only two jars that actually seal shut snugly. Therefore, these are best bought as a decorative set, rather than a working set of cosmetic bottles. We have priced them accordingly.

PS: We have plenty of heirlooms spread out amongst family already. Please don't worry. We'd rather this go to someone who will put it on display than keep it with us in a box for the next 50 years!
