Antique Asian Handheld Cymbals 10.5” Diameter with Floral Motif in Bell
These cymbals may have been inherited from the Burr sisters who traveled the world in the 1920s and 1930s. Inside the bells are decorative floral motifs with what appear to be Japanese or Chinese letters. We have not been able to translate them or find anything similar shaped, similar sized, with a similar pattern inside. An expert could only confirm they appear of Asian origin, probably from or intended for a Buddhist temple...
The are 10 1/2” in diameter with a leather holding strap that is attached to one and slips through the other for easy carrying. They seem to be in good condition despite the need for a good polishing (we understand there is special cymbal polish and will leave that to a buyer to do so we don’t damage the pieces).
