Antique Brass Double Trumpet Classic Car Horn (Missing Rubber Bulb)

$50.00Price

Our mother Nancy Chandler used this as a doorbell, with visitors required to squeeze the rubber bulb at the end to make it honk loudly. Unfortunately, the rubber bulb disintegrated over time and we had to toss it.

We are offering this as a collectible decorative item – it is believed to be a car horn used on classic cars from the early 20th century - or an instrument for someone else to fix! We have not polished it, leaving the joy of discovering its rich brass color to a buyer.

It does unscrew into four parts as shown in photos and it has some tarnishing. It does still work, as we can blow into the pipe at the end and make a large honking noise. The bell at the end of the shorter trumpet is dented but that does not affect the sound.

We found only one identical one online with the same removable screw on sections, but also with a rubber bulb and bolt to affix the horn which we do not have. Asking price for that one was $ 87.

Rubber bulbs for classic car horns are available on eBay starting at only $ 5.70.
