Antique Chinese Japanese Ink Sticks Lot 5: Set of 5 + Inkstone + Brush

$55.00Price

This set belonged to Alice Burr, who purchased the pieces in China in the 1920s or 1930s, including the inkstone and brush.

Five ink sticks are included, one a partial ink stick, three of the others broken or cracked, and only the second one from the left in original good form. Hopes are that someone will actually use these as a result! No need to worry about preserving them as they are…

Should you choose to try using them, you will will need to grind the ink stick of your choice with water on the inkstone to create ink which will pool in the bottom of the sloped inkstone.

As noted above, but maybe not so clearly in photos, three of the ink sticks are broken or cracked, and one is only a partial ink stick.

These will come in the original wooden box used to store them by Alice Burr. The clasp is a bit tight but still snaps shut with a little careful lining up and pressure.
