Antique Lime Green Crackled Mini Vase/Snuff Bottle (no stopper)
This piece possibly dates back to the 18th or 19th Century. We believe the Burr sisters picked it up in China in the 1920s or 1930s and passed it down to our grandmother. It was stored with what they labeled ‘very valuable’ snuff bottles so it could be one, however it appears more similar to a small vase.
We found a similar item online with the same distinctive crackling in the same size that was priced at $ 1,400, but the only auction house that responded to our estimate inquiry turned it down.
The mouth is painted green, with a drip on one side. There are natural imperfections especially in the lower quarters as well as some very small pockmarks around the circumference of the piece.
