Antique Chinese Metal and Enamel Bat Theme Filigree Earring (1 only)

For repurposing. This special piece has a very detailed metalwork with cloisonne images of bats and what might be wisps of wind on the three sections, as well as the Chinese ‘Double Shou’ longevity symbol on the bottom. We had thought it was silver but it tested negative using an acid test.
 
We have not attempted to polish or clean this piece. 
 
This was part of our grandmother’s jewelry collection, probably inherited from the Burr sisters who traveled to China in the 1920s and 1930s. There are no maker’s marks on this.
