Antique Lace by Aunt Lotte Wenzlick: Round Lace Doily, 14”

This handmade intricate lace pattern doily is in relatively good vintage condition. The center appears to be linen. It has two tiny stains and two pin pricks as shown in photos. We have not washed or ironed it. 
 
According to our grandmother’s handwritten note, this was handmade by our Aunt Lotte Wenzlick who won prizes at the Milwaukee and Wisconsin state fairs in her time.
 
Doilies were used to help protect fine furniture from scratches caused by dishes or bowls placed on them, while also being aesthetically pleasing.
