Black Seed or Nut Screw Back Earrings

These were found in our grandmother’s costume jewelry collection. They appear to be seeds or nuts. Where or when they were purchases is unknown. There is no visible maker’s mark. They are not perfectly round and the screw back may need some adjustment to fit in place properly.
 
A quick online search finds the seeds most bear a likeness to the large flat dioclea from Peru, Ecuador and Costa Rica. 
 
They hang just below the lobe, H 1” x L 7/8”
