Central Asian Nickel Silver Filigree Pendant with Intaglio Horse on Lapis Lazuli

This unique silver alloy filigree and lapis lazuli piece matches several online from Afghanistan in terms of shape, size, silver backing, and design concept. Ours however has a horse carved into the lapis lazuli stone which we did not find online. 
 
This came to us from a gentleman who lived in Afghanistan for a year or two in the 1970s. It has not been polished so you will see the patina, as well as a couple of white spots in the filigree which we believe can be cleaned. It may be remnants from an earlier polishing. 
 
It tested negative for silver on a home acid test so we believe it must be a silver alloy as common with Afghan silver, also reported to be known as ‘nickel silver’.
