Dianne Weiss (1918-2008): Kings, Queens and Jack

$50.00Price

Note: The art paper is much whiter than shown in photos.

This large piece on white art paper features four playing card figures: the King of Hearts, Jack of Hearts, Queen of Spades, and King of Spades. We believe it is a woodcut print from lines, colors, and the pressure applied that shows through the backside, but it could also be a linocut print.

American Dianne Weiss (1918–2008) was a printmaker, painter, and book designer and a member of the California Society of Printmakers. Her home was in Mill Valley, where we presume she met our mother who relocated there in the late 1980s.

It is signed and titled but not dated. In the bottom right is also 38- which may have been the number of a limited print or the sale price at the time. It is not framed.

It is in remarkably good condition for its age, although there are some creases as shown in photos.

H 20 1/8” x L 17 1/8”
