Emerald Color Green Stones on Gold Band Ring Size 5

We are consulting a jeweler on the gold content of the band of this ring, therefore it is not priced yet.
 
This ring is stamped XXIIII inside the band, which represents the number 24 and may connote 24 karat gold, or pure gold, but the gemologist we consulted said she had never seen such before. She does think it may be 14k gold. There is no other maker’s mark or identification of the piece. It has an unusual backing which, along with the design on the face, had no match online that we could find.
 
This piece was found in our grandmother’s jewelry collection. We do not know when or where she acquired it.

Head is 11/16” in diameter, ring sits approx.. 1/4” above ring finger.
