Emmy Lou Packard (1914-1998): Tide Pool (1950)
This color block print features marine life found in a tide pool – sea anemones, sea urchins, a fish, and a sea cucumber. We believe it is printed on fibrous laid ivory Japan paper, borrowing the description of the textured handmade looking paper from a gallery that sold an identical piece. American artist Emmy Lou Packard’s signature is in pencil in the lower right corner.
The artwork is in excellent condition, mounted in the upper corners only inside a very large thick grey fronted mat board, with another piece of mat board on the back. The back still has the wall hanging stick on pad used by our grandparents who previously owned this piece. The front had some staples on the sides to hold it to the back, which we have removed to avoid damaging artwork.
Priced based on auction sale in 2022 of an identical piece for $ 900.
