Faux Pearl Choker with Hook Marked JAPAN 12.5”-16”

This piece may have been meant for a child or someone with a very small neck as it is quite tight if using the first option for hooking. 
 
This necklace was found with our grandmother’s costume jewelry collection. There is JAPAN stamped on the back of the hook, but no other maker’s mark. We have no idea where or when she purchased it. It is in good condition although the clasp is a bit tarnished.
