George Paulus (1910-1995): Frog Playing a Lute

$5.00Price

This small but colorful original ink illustration is in great condition although the back has remnants of two stickers suggesting it was attached to a backing or scrapbook at some time.

Our mother Nancy Chandler’s note on the back reads: ILLUSTRATION by George Paulus an architect + close friend of Sands-es he always drew frogs for some reason. (The Sands are her parents.)

We believe the artist’s was George Jackson Paulus (1910-1995) as GJP would match the signature on the piece. He was indeed an architect in California, and an artist, although his greatest achievement as an artist was in creating cluster puzzle history, although silent about it until ‘discovered’. If interested, look up the story online.
