Hmong Miao 925 Sterling Silver Tribal Five Ring Sterling Silver Necklace 15”
This beautiful five ring necklace is stamped 925 inside the bottom ring. We believe it was made by the Miao people - who are master silversmiths - in southern China for the Hmong people who live in the mountainous areas of China, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. It features five sold sterling silver rings, each looped onto a flexible silver strap that goes around the back of the neck. On the strap are small nubs that are soldered on.
We believe our mother bought this in northern Thailand during the 1970s or 1980s when she called Thailand home.
It is in very good condition although there are some stubborn oxidation marks as shown in photos. A professional polishing would help. Note: it is recommended that this necklace be stored in sealed packaging out of the light when not being worn. To clean it, toothpaste and a cotton cloth are recommended instead of washing with water.
Our price is based on the fact this piece is stamped sterling silver.
