Janet Jones: Afterglow (13” x 11”)

$35.00Price

Note: The colors of the waters are actually more purple than blue, very hard to capture on camera, sorry!

This stunning print features orange, purple, pink, blue, green, cream, and ochre shades with two silver moons. Beneath the artwork, which is titled and signed, is a debossed floral motif, which may be the artist's logo or just a delightful embellishment.

The website of an artist named Janet Jones who has lived in San Francisco most of her life mentions that her studio is on a wooded hillside overlooking the Farallon Islands, so this could be a view of the Farallons, or of course somewhere else. (We initially thought it was a view of Lake Tahoe from our mother's deck.)

The artwork is in excellent condition although the off white mat it is printed on has some scratches and pressure marks from something that must have been placed atop it at one time.

We are guessing Janet and our mother Nancy Chandler were friends, maybe meeting at the Bay Printmaker’s annual Fort Mason exhibit where both might have been showing recent work in decades past.

This came to us shrink wrapped with the price sticker of only $ 35 which we think was so very low for this gorgeous piece, but we will ask the same with respect. We have removed the shrink wrap as it was damaged.
