Knickerbocker Animals of Distinction Bear Hand Puppet (And O-Ridge-Nal Snake)
These two would be inconsolable if separated so we are including them together, although we believe the Knickerbocker bear could be a collector’s great find… We could find no match online to this particular Knickerbocker but we found similar eyes on other Knickerbocker plushies from the 1940s….
Both these puppets are old hand puppets, the hand slipping in to move the mouth only.
The bear has a tag identifying it as one in a line of Knickerbocker Toy Co. Animals of Distinction. It also says: All new materials, cotton and foam, SURFACE WASHABLE ONLY. It was sewn in Haiti for the NJ based company.
The snake is labeled inside as a ‘A Paradise O-ridge-nal’ of which we could find no information online.
Both puppets are in very good vintage condition although the bear’s eyes have some peeling of paint. We see no seam splits or stains, inside or out.
