Kunst offnet die Augen / Art Opens the Eyes Poster, 1984 (33 x 23 1/8”)
This poster was a promotion for Bavaria’s State Museums, designed by the graphic design studio of Mendell & Oberer. Founder Pierre Mendell specialized in cultural promotions featuring strikingly vibrant text and images, revolutionizing the graphic design industry in Germany.
Translations of the text in the lower right corner: Besuchen Sie Bayerns Sttatliche Museen (Visit Bavaria’s State Museums). In the lower left corner along the edge: Staatliche Museen und Sammlungen in Bayern (State Museums and Collections in Bavaria).
As shown in all the photos of the backside of the poster, it is not in immaculate condition having picked up some wrinkles and dents in its time in storage and moving. Sorry!
