Louise Forbush: ‘Ikebana’ Collage Greeting Cards (Set of 4)

$10.00Price

These uniquely-handmade, signed and dated, blank collage cards feature an array of materials, including beautiful paper scraps from a 200 year old shop in Tokyo, three with tiny beads, and two with some sort of woven reed or light wood. They were inspired by the artist’s paper-making memories from a trip to Japan and the art of ikebana, Japanese flower arrangements, which she used to flow from flowers to paper. They are simply exquisite.

American artist Louise Forbush is known for her collages of handmade papers and found materials. She uses torn, cut, and layered paper, gold leaf, and other natural materials to create abstract and landscape-inspired art. Her art focuses on the properties of paper—how it feels, tears, and reflects light. She builds multiple layers to create a "sculptural terrain".

Note: One of the cards appears to have been printed or painted using a different technique.

Each cream card comes with a cream envelope.

Each card H 4 3/4” x L 6 1/4”
