MCM Yellow Ceramic Pitcher by Kaj Frank for Arabia Finland, 1960s
Kaj Franck (1911-1989) is described by Wikipedia as ‘one of the leading figures of Finnish design and an influential figure in design and applied arts between 1940 and 1980’. He was the artistic director at the Arabia ceramics company, this minimalist glossy porcelain pitcher the tallest of a set of three created in the 1960s, based on our online research.
On the bottom is stamped the logo and brand name ARABIA, MADE IN FINLAND, 18. In the mold is the code F-L-4. (The little white sticker shown in photos can be removed.)
Ours is in surprisingly good condition. Considering we know it has been used, it appears to be as good as new.
