Rare Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver & White Buffalo Screw Back Earrings

These beautiful stones sit in an oval silver casing. We left the patina on the back. We confirmed it is silver using an acid test. We strongly believe the stone is white buffalo stone, or howlite, based on our online research but it could also be dendritic agate. A gemologist suggested it would not be cost effective to test to confirm. 
 
It was found with our grandmother's jewelry collection. She may have inherited it from the Burr sisters. We are not able to confirm time or place it was purchased.
