Northern Californian Winifred Madison (1918-2013) was an oil painting and batik artist, and became a children’s book illustrator and author later in life. In her obituary, it was noted “Her first young-adult novel, ‘Maria Luisa’, was far ahead of its time in depicting the life of a Hispanic teenage girl in California.”
 
This poster is in good condition.
