Old Indonesian Java Wood Carving Architectural Panel / Wall Decor

$250.00Price

This beautiful piece is believed to be hand carved teak with a floral motif and a dark finish. We believe it was originally meant to be part of a set of doors located at the entrance of a traditional house in Java, Indonesia, given the only comparable we found online with the same size, shape, and wood ledges on the end, which presumably were designed to slip it into place within the door structure. The motif we could not match anywhere.

It is made from a single piece of wood and comes with wall hanging loops. There is some white debris in the crevices on the left side as shown in photos. Otherwise, it is in very good vintage condition.

We believe it was purchased in the 1930s by the Burr sisters on their world tour. It is in good vintage condition.

Note: If we are wrong about the origin or the type of wood, please let us know!
