Rare Antique Novelty Champagne Bottle Cigar Pierce, 1890s

$20.00Price

Push the top down on this little champagne bottle and it goes into the bottle and an cigar pierce comes out the bottom, slipping back inside the minute one relieves pressure on the top.

A cigar piercer, also known as a cigar punch or lance, is a tool with a pointed, sharp end designed to create a small hole in the cap of a cigar. Unlike a cutter, it doesn't remove the cap but rather punctures a tiny opening to facilitate airflow. This allows for a more controlled draw, can help open up the draw on tight or hard-to-draw cigars, and offers a different smoking experience for those who prefer not to cut their cigars.

Ours was an advertising gimmick for CUNNINGHAMS & CO of PITTSBURGH PA as on the label on the front. We believe it is silver plated on brass, the silver plate coming off in several places.
