Rare Vintage Mexican Ceramic Bird Candlesticks Set

SKU: 5002
$30.00Price

These vintage ceramic pieces are in the shape of two birds  with blue and white tufts on their heads, green, blue and white bands around their necks, a red chest and blue, white, green, and pink feathers. The candle cups feature a 'petticoat' to capture wax runoff.  On the bottom, they are both stamped MEXICO.

They are handcrafted and painted individually as evident from differences in their eyes and textures along the wings.

Both have  chipped candle cups but the holes are depe enough to still hold a candle.

These were likely purchased in Mexico in the 1960s-1970s by our grandmother Winona Sands who never liked to buy sets where each item was identical.

We found nothing like them online.
