Vintage Rigid Native American Zuni Child's Onyx and Unmarked Silver Cuff, 6”
Warning: If planning to wear this bracelet, make sure your wrist is no larger than 6” as it cannot be enlarged.
This understated elegant bracelet features 7 onyx stones perfectly inlaid in silver for a smooth exterior surface. We confirmed it is silver using a home acid test. As it is unmarked, we believe it dates to the 1960s or much earlier. Hallmarks were not common until the 1970s with Native American jewelry. We believe it is Zuni and intended for a child.
This was found in our grandmother’s vintage jewelry collection but may have been inherited by her from the Burr sisters, putting acquisition of this treasures back to the 1920s or 1930s when the Burrs travelled widely worldwide as well as within the USA.
It sports a dark patina as we have not polished it. Otherwise it is in very good condition but for some natural imperfections (we spotted two nicks and one dent on the band).
