Royal Cauldon ‘Native’ Brown Multicolor Cup and Saucer (Set of 4)

$15.00Price

This discontinued tea cup and saucer set was made by the Royal Cauldon of England, Pattern No. 443B, according to markings on the bottom of the pieces, which title it ‘Native’. Each cup features on its exterior an idyllic countryside scene with two men fishing in a boat on a river, black and white horses watching ashore as another man guts a fish under the eyes of two women, a cottage in the far right. The bowl, or mirror, of the cups has a condensed version of the same view. The handles have floral images climbing up them. The saucers have similar colored floral imagery encircling the same condensed central image as in the bowl of the cups.

The Royal Cauldon was a brand in use from the 1930s to the 1970s, the business closed in 1977 and the brand name bought at a later date.

These are in good vintage condition, although one of the cups has a crack as shown in photos. The crackling on the bottom of some saucers is stronger than on others.

We are guessing these were gifted to our grandmother or the Burr sisters at some time and never used. As you may have noticed, they do not really go with anything else in our collections… For those who do like this pattern, check for other serve ware in the same motif online from salad plates to dinner plates.

Bonus: You get three more saucers for free with this order, granted two of them have cracks on the bottom...

Cup H 2 1/4” x L 3 3/8 with handle x W 2 3/4 (diameter of mouth)
