Sawankhalok Reproduction Dark Blue and Grey Lotus Jar with Lid, 5 1/4" Tall
This heavy, lightly glazed piece is believed to be a reproduction of Thai Sawankhalok or Sangkhalok pottery. The exterior features eight floral images as in the leaves of a lotus, with the lotus shaped knob on top sitting amid concentric circles of calm. The same pattern repeats on the bottom section with a patterned line just above the foot. The interior is crackled light olive glaze. It does not appear to have ever been used other than for decoration.
There are a few spots on the lid which may come off with washing. Other than that, it is in excellent condition.
We believe our mother Nancy Chandler would have bought this in Thailand during her 18 years living there.
