Small Vintage Metal Lock Box / Cash Box, Gold and Red Tole (No Key)

This tin box was designed to hold cash or documents. It has a handle for portability and once had a key for security (we do not have the key). It opens and shuts, but it is scratched, dented, has remnants of what might be clear glue on the lid, and paint has chipped off as visible in photos.
 
We believe this dates back to the 1920s-1940s.
