Square Silver Color Screw Back Earrings

These are costume jewelry silver pieces inherited from our grandmother, date and place acquired unknown. They do appear scratched when seen up close, possibly from polishing, so say they are well-loved. They tested positive for silver using the acid test.
 
These sit above the earlobe, each square 5/8” x 5/8”
