Sterling Silver Navajo Baby Cuff Bracelet Signed, 4” Adjustable
This Native American piece by Jane Yikazbaa Popovich (1926-2012) features an oval turquoise stone in the center and hand stamped designs along the sides including thunderbirds, arrows, and lightning bolts.
The bracelet is stamped STERLING on the back with the initials JP above, the signature of Jane Yikazbaa Popovich who was a Dine’ (traditional Navajo) silversmith and ran Navajo Silvercraft in Phoenix, AZ. The cuff design enables the user to press the bracelet into a smaller circumference or expand it. This piece does not appear to have ever been used and may be in its original condition if polished, which we did not do.
We found it among our grandmother’s jewelry collection, with no indication of where or when she purchased it.
