Unisex Blue Stone Unmarked Silver Ring, Size 5.75

This unisex ring features a large blue stone, which is bezel set above a chain patterned indented band on a heavy ring of unmarked metal which may be silver. The gemstone is translucent in the right light, with a view of crystalized parts inside as we tried to show in one of the photos (this piece was very hard to photograph). We think it might be kyanite but a gemologist said the cost of testing to confirm such would not be cost-effective. The back is open. 
 
We found this in our grandmother’s vintage jewelry collection. We do not know when or where it was acquired. It has not been polished. There do appear to be two nicks on the bottom of the band, but we believe these are part of the original design.
