Victorian Era Sollers Co Phila. High Button Baby Shoes Late 1800s

$30.00Price

These high top, buttoned baby or toddler boots were popular in the 1860s and 1870s, sold into the early 1900s, according to our online research. Baby’s booties were then designed to look like adult footwear, unlike the comfy booties used for babies and toddlers today.

These are made of brown leather with decorative stitching, scalloped edges and five button closures. One is stamped SOLLERS CO., PHILA. on the bottom. S.D. Sollers & Co., manufacturers of children's fine shoes, active in the 1870s and 1880s. Inside the boot, we found marked 0 1/2 (which we assume was the size) and 101 (which we assume is the model number)

These are quite clean but appear to have been used. There are stains on the bottom of each boot and minor wear evident on the front of both boots. Two buttons are missing on the right boot. They are clean inside, although one has a small smudge on the side of the heel area.

A buyer might want to use coconut oil to protect the leather, according to our online research.
