Vintage African Kenya Handcrafted Desk Organizer

We believe our mother picked this piece up in 1968 when visiting Kenya. This four compartment desk organizer is believed to be made of mango wood. The pockets are smoothly carved out. The sides have a geometric diamond pattern with diagonal lines through each, a blank ink or charcoal used to accentuate the pattern. The base is darkly stained. 
 
It is in remarkably good condition for its age. We do not believe this piece was ever used.
