Vintage African Kenya Handcrafted Serving Spoons FREE WITH OTHER PURCHASE

We believe our mother picked these up in 1968 when visiting Kenya. They are believed to be made of mango wood. The sides have a geometric diamond pattern with criss cross lines through each, a blank ink or charcoal used to accentuate the pattern. The handles have a less accentuated similar carving.

 

Our mother wrote CHANDLER in green on the side of one of the spoons and clearly used these. They also appear, shall we say, unfinished? They could use a cleaning and some wood oil…
