Vintage Anri Hand Carved Italian Wooden Corkscrew, 1930s-1950s

Vintage Anri corkcscrews and bottle stoppers are collectible items due to the range of characters created and their unique hand-carved designs. They are often humorous, featuring jolly men among others. This one features a jolly man with wide face and reddened cheeks in a red cap, which could be an alps cap.
 
Anri is an Italian company renowned for its intricate woodcarvings. There is no trademark or label on this item, but we learned that an authentic Anri piece may have lost its original sticker or label so it does not mean it is fake. The piece is clearly hand-carved and hand painted, both signs that it is likely authentic. It is in very good vintage condition.
