Vintage Brass Edged Clam Shell Trinket Box and/or Pendant

This hinged trinket or pill box was crafted from a real clam seashell, the exterior shiny and the interior that of the original clam shell. The Brass that encircles the edges of this piece has minor discoloration but the hinge and clasp work perfectly. Perhaps all it needs is a little polishing. It would be possible to attach a chain to the loop atop the piece to transform it into a pendant as well. 
 
We found this with our grandmother’s vintage costume jewelry. We do not know where or when she obtained it. We suspect she used it as a coin purse or jewelry box. 
 
There are several of these online ranging in price from $ 20-60. We have priced this to find it a home where it will be appreciated.
