Vintage Brutalist Chunky Heavy Brass or Bronze Bead Choker, 1950s, 15”

We believe this necklace’s main ornamental beads are brass but they are heavier than expected, so they may be bronze. The 5 heavy beads are strung on a think leather cord with three penny sized spacers and coiled locks and clasp of the same material. The beads could use some polishing, as shown in photos, but otherwise the choker is in very good condition.
 
This was found in our grandmother’s vintage jewelry collection. We do not know when or where she bought it but another listing dates this piece to the mid century which would fit with her timeline.
 
A similar piece listed online with only 3 round beads is asking $ 60.
