$5.00Price

This photo depicts a statue of the Shakyamuni Buddha (enlightened Buddha) flanked by two attendant bodhisattvas, believed to be Manjushri representing wisdom and Samantabhadra representing practice and meditation.

The statue sits in the Horyu-Ji Temple in Nara, Japan, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the country. According to the penciled note on the back by one of the Burr sisters, the photo was taken by Tori Busshi.

The photo has a stamp in the lower right corner. It is in decent vintage condition with some wear on the edges and one tiny tear as shown in photos.
