Vintage Canon Camera Carrying Case, Made in Japan

$30.00Price

This minimalist 1950s or 1960s style camera case may have some scuff marks and a few stains, but it is still striking. Embossed in the cover is the word Canon, although barely visible now. On the back is embossed MADE IN JAPAN. The adjustable strap appears to be original, the clasp marked Canon as well. We believe the case is covered in faux leather/vinyl, but the strap is leather.

Inside, there are two compartments with snap on straps, presumably for flash or zoom lens accessories, and a larger space in the back with block on the top to store one’s camera.

As mentioned, this case does have scuff marks and stains. The decorative exterior base panel has also been glued back on (the interior base not damaged). The leather shoulder pad on the strap is showing its age. See photos.

We could not find anything similar online to this piece. We are guessing it would date back to the 1950s or 1960s but it could have been a later design as well.
