Vintage Canon W-50-A Clamp On Metal Lens Hood for 35mm f/3.5 FL Lens

This black metal push-on hood was reportedly designed specifically for use with the vintage Canon 35mm f/3.5 FL lens. A lens hood is used to block excess light and prevent lens flare from entering the lens, which can degrade image quality. It is a discontinued item.
 
Ours is stamped Canon Japan on one side of the outside of the hood, and W-50-A on the opposite side. The screw to tighten/loosen the hood works. We believe this belonged to our mother and was used although there are only minimal signs of use.
