Vintage Coconut Shell Ladles with Wood Carved Dog and Bird on Handles (Set of 2)

$10.00Price

These beautifully carved yet primitive ladles feature hard coconut shells as scoops, with long curved handles with etched geometric patterns and a dog with color on one handle, a bird with features on the other. The wood handles end inside the coconut shell with a triangular carving motif.

We do not know where these come from as an exhaustive search online failed us. We presume, with the dog with collar on one (ie. not a traditional look), that they are probably from the 1980s or 1990s, possibly purchased in Thailand, or elsewhere in Asia.

These are intended as decorative objects only. Should you use them to serve liquids, we would advise you clean them thoroughly first and wash by hand only.

They are in good condition but for a break in the handle of the bird ladle, which may have predated purchase. See photos.
