Vintage Dark Green Marbled Swirl Bakelite Bangle, 1940s 8"

This piece appears black at first glance but look closer and you will see the dark green background to swirling marbled patterns under the surface. It tested positive to the Bakelite hot water test and the Formula 409 (Simichrome alternative) test. It does have some nicks and scratches from wear by our grandmother decades ago, consistent with its age.
 
Bakelite was an early type of plastic which became popular in the 1910-1940s for costume jewelry as it could be molded easily into different shapes. The rare color does make this a more collectible piece.
