Vintage Clara Kasavina Silver Tone Beaded Evening Bag Clutch (In Need of Repair)

This little party purse belonged to one of Nancy’s daughters and we thought we’d throw it in here. It was bought in the 1980s or 1990s for surely not very much (she was on a budget). Checked the little manufacturer’s metal tab on the handle and learned it was by Clara Studio Inc., an exact copy currently asking $ 398 for one in excellent condition!
 
Clara Studio Inc. was founded in 1981 in New York by Clara Kasavina to create costume jewelry but found its claim to fame for handbags, each described as a work of art… this particular design coming in all colors and shades.
 
Ours is in good vintage condition, with two chain handles with minor beading, functional magnetic clasps, and a clean cloth lining. The band around the clasp is decorated in metalwork and bezel set multifaceted glass or rhinestones in four-stone floral patterns. The silver tone exterior is a mix of tight knitting and beading.
 
When we say it is in need of repair, we mean: We spotted a couple of loose threads although we see no unraveling of the purse. One rhinestone is missing and one side is starting to see a split in the seam. See photos. 
 
We are pricing this to find someone to give it life again.
