Vintage Georg Jensen Henning Koppel Sterling Silver Concave Brooch Pin 356

SKU: BP105
$160.00Price

This simple, sleek, mid-century modernist, circular concave brooch was designed by Henning Koppel (1918-1981)  for the Georg Jensen silver company in Denmark at some time after he started working there in 1945. He was a Danish sculptor and designer who worked on everything from jewelry to cutlery, candlesticks, tableware, lamps, and lighting during his influential career.

Stamped on the back of the brooch are the GEORG JENSEN LOGO, 925 S, DENMARK, and the model number 356. Also visible on the back are two holes, suggesting this may have been converted into a pin by our grandmother, in whose vintage jewelry collection we found this piece. However, the pin does appear original and its layout matches identical brooches found online. We do not know where or when she acquired this. It does have light surface scratches commensurate with use and age, which a professional jeweler may be able to address.

We found only two of these are available online for $ 300 and up, most  listings already sold.

H 1 5/6” x W 1 5/8” x D 1/2” not including pin.

Approx. 0.6 oz (17g)
