Vintage Handmade Wood Frame with Metal Floral Motif Inlay (10.75 x 8.75)
We were unable to identify where this frame came from, but it is antique or vintage, with a wood frame and a decorative metal panel inserted at an angle leading into the mirror or picture space. The panel features repousséfloral patterns. The back has wood turn buttons that can be swiveled to hold a mirror or picture in place. There is no hanging mechanism, this piece perhaps intended to be used standing on end or leaning against something.
We are guessing this may be from Nepal or India, but whether this was bought in the 1920s-1930s or in the 1960s-1970s, we do not know.
This frame is missing two turn buttons on the back as visible in photos, and one of the shorter sides can be shifted away from the frame, evidence of past repair on the left side. A buyer might want to use wood glue to ensure it stays in place if used. It would probably also glow if given a good wood treatment.
