Vintage Italian Folk Art Side Table Lamp by ESA

This yellow ceramic lamp may have started life as a vase only to be converted into a lamp by our grandparents who had a habit of doing such. They were interior decorators after all.
 
There is an image of fields and buildings in a green crest on both sides of the piece. On the base is ESA and Made in Italy. We are guessing this is from the 1950s or earlier, and probably picked up by our grandparents in their travels.
 
It is in relatively decent condition, with several pockmarks from the glazing process. The cream lampshade with green accent line could be replaced however as it has a minor stain, some spots, and a bit missing on the rim as shown in photos.
 
Warning: The electrics are probably from the 1950s and may need to be rewired to modern codes. The lamp does however still work as shown in photos.
